What a Wonderful Habit

This is what Sisters On The Fly is all about.

I remember sitting around a campfire back in June 2011 dreaming about what it might look like to have sisters come to Sisters OR for NW Gathering.  As soon as the words left my mouth OR sisters were volunteering to coordinate meal teams, manage registration and finances, help make giveaways and procure auction items.

I am forever grateful and indebted to the FANTASTIC sisters who served on the Oregon planning committee and made that dream a reality.  Those women include:

* Julie Niemeyer
* Ginger Martynowicz
* Hannah Martynowicz (teenage sister-in-the-making)
* Marianne Prodehl
* Leslan Carlson
* Sally McCabe
* Fran Rattay
* Tani Gibson

Your dedication, committment and countless hours spent working on NW Gathering is appreciated more than words can convey.

I would also like to thank Robin Maillet, Paula Palmer, and all the wonderful staff at the Bend/Sisters Garden RV Resort who worked behind the scenes on giveaways, re-setting breakers, delivering firewood, moving tables/chairs, etc.

Lastly, I want to thank each sister who attended this year's event.  To the coffee, breakfast and dinner teams, cleanup crews, sisters who helped with "easy ups", nurses who tended to sisters in need, and to Carol Hill, the auction team and each and every one of you who generously donated over $20,000 to Healing Reins!  THANK YOU!

You are an amazing group of wonderful women and I wholeheartedly concur with Dita Keith, HR Executive Director when she said, "You sisters are angels.  You're just angels."  Not only is your gift the single largest donation EVER received by Healing Reins to date, but it will sustain services for over 1100 program recipients and open the doors for some who are on the wait list.

Thank you for affording me the the opportunity to serve you this year.  I am proud to be called "sister" and wish you abundant blessings so you can continue to bless others with your generosity.

Feels Like Summer

It's absolutely spectacular in Central Oregon with weather in the upper-70s to mid-80s and not a cloud in the sky for as far as the eye can see!

With only about 4 weeks left until the big event, we recommend bringing the following items to help make your stay more enjoyable:
  • 30amp electrical adapter
  • Auction items - for both the silent and live events; don't forget to bring $$ for bidding too. ;)
  • Bicycle - the park is pretty big and having "wheels" will make it easier to get around
  • Cards, dice, dominos, etc. - for game night on Wednesday
  • Chapstick, sunscreen & water - staying hydrated and protected from the sun is a must in our high desert climate
  • Fishing gear and license
  • Insurance info (health and vehicle) - so we can help in the event of any unforseen mishap
  • Pop-up portable shade cover
  • Swap meet - items for sale and $$ for purchases
  • Swimsuit - so you can take advantage of the outdoor pool and jacuzzi
  • Table clothes - for use during group meals; be sure to label for easy return
Now let's get ready to "have more fun than anyone"!
